Technology and Knowledge

The company’s GWTi-Observer device is the commercial building’s equivalent of an aeroplane’s black box, securely capturing real-time data across multiple systems including fire panel, fire suppression, boilers, occupancy, airquality, electrical panels, lighting and security. The device plugs in to existing systems without interference or risk to building operation, reading multiple system protocols and languages to ensure comprehensive data capture, with an average of 500,000 raw data points captured per building, per day.

Once captured, the raw data is securely transferred to GWTi-DataDNA, the company’s classification and standardisation technology. Using a proprietary rule set and assisted by AI, data is categorised and standardised to carrier-aligned risk factors. Over 100 core rules are applied to each data point – all in real-time. High volumes of raw data are transformed into actionable insights, with automated algorithms providing live risk monitoring.

Security

Ensuring data security and the integrity of our whole system has been at the centre of our approach to the creation of GWTi-Observer, our insight products and insurance solution.

The GWTi-Observer is designed to listen and capture data from systems, sensors and machinery operating in commercial buildings. The GWTi-Observer cannot interrupt the operation of systems or effect the way that they are set up.

Common Internet of Things (IoT) vulnerabilities are managed through a combination of both hardware and software security.

Insight products are all protected by strong levels of encryption, authentication, and access controls. They are also tested and certified by third party security experts.
